Our early childhood development was influenced irreversibly by the Planet of the Apes movies of the early 1970s, so we have to look to Ty Templeton as a parent figure. Ty is the Editor of Canada's refreshing young imprint Mr. Comics, which publishes the surprisingly sophisticated primate political thriller Revolution on the Planet of the Apes, as well as the unrelated super-simian sleeper Big Max and soon the almost-human Hoverboy, a simulated-history saga to make Dr. Id feel not feel so alone in this world. Ty is a panoramically accomplished comics artist and writer whether or not you're calling him Mr., having made contributions across the pop-art spectrum from the cartoon tie-in Batman Adventures to the relentless realism of Harvey Pekar's American Splendor.
